What is the Smart Sustainable Tech Showcase?

The Smart Sustainable Tech Showcase allows the AEC industry and broader innovation community to learn about, and connect with the latest game changers that will be shaping the future of Alberta’s building landscape. 

The Showcase is designed to provide opportunities and valuable exposure to companies that have developed an innovative technology, or process that can reduce carbon from buildings. It also allows building owners and operators, construction firms, architects, and engineers to learn about the latest innovations in the local sustainable tech space and connect with the companies behind them.

Come and learn firsthand about ways in which you can enhance your next building project!

Who can apply to present?

If you have developed a product or technology that can reduce GHG emissions in the built environment (across the AEC industry), we want to hear about it! We are specifically looking for companies that are:

  • Available in Alberta or looking to develop a market in Alberta
  • Have a product or technology that is at a TRL 7 (ready to be demonstrated in an operational environment) or greater
  • Looking for feedback/opportunities to test your product or technology, or increase awareness about your company
    * Members of SSRIA will be given priority

Presentation format

  1. 5-minute “micro-presentations” delivered live by each innovator company
  2. Cross-examination and questioning from a panel of industry experts
  3. Q&A between the innovator company and live industry audience
  4. Expert panel and industry audience vote for their favourite solution
  5. Followed by a networking event
