Lisa brings diverse experience from the design, construction, and operations industry, having
worked with both Owners and General Contractors, including more than six years at Ledcor
Construction Limited. A passionate advocate for sustainability and green building technology, Lisa
actively engages in connecting, networking, and seeking opportunities to learn and share within
this field. As a LEED Green Associate, Lisa is committed to finding innovative ways to support
sustainable building practices and joining the SSRIA board aligns perfectly with this mission.
With six years as a Director at Large for the Calgary Construction Association, three years on the
City of Calgary Public Art Advisory Board and currently sitting on the Canadian Construction
Association GC National Advisory Council offers substantial experience in both board and
nonprofit organizational governance.
Addressing the critical need for carbon reduction in design, construction and operations is central
to the sustainability mission. Lisa has been focused in supporting these efforts both industry-wide
and at Ledcor, aligning personal priorities with corporate goals. Currently, Lisa is enhancing the
Calgary Construction branch initiatives by organizing sustainability-themed lunch and learn
sessions to raise awareness and foster industry connections. She is also actively involved in
industry development through completing the CaGBC Low Carbon training course, attending recent
green events, participating in the ENBIX CoP, joining the SSRIA mixer event and pursuing the Carbon
badge through the USGBC. Furthermore, Lisa partnered with other likeminded industry individuals
to propose a sustainability themed panel event for Buildex Alberta in October and recently
requested to create a High-Performance Buildings CoP within Ledcor, all to bring people together
and support sustainability in our industry.
At Ledcor, Lisa is dedicated to challenging conventions and improving building practices. As a
member of the Ledcor Global Innovation Committee for the Construction group, she recognizes the
importance of collaboration, creativity, and communication in driving industry change. Additionally,
Lisa’s extensive network and strong social connections make her an asset to the SSRIA board,
facilitating the collective effort needed to achieve a zero-carbon built environment.
