Collaborators on an GBTN team are sub-consultants or a product/service provider with a strong business connection to the design, construction, and clean technology sector. Collaborators mutually benefit from the business development, learning opportunity and relationships made that continue on to leverage new business after the project is complete.

Project Collaborators include: International Timberframes

How did you get involved in the SSRIA GBTN with Town of Banff (TOB)?

ITF: We have worked together with HSS design build before, so it was a natural fit .

What does it mean to you be a project collaborator and what value do you add?

ITF: ITF encourages the collaboration and efficient detail choices as early in the design process as possible working together with the rest of the team. The BIM modeling was an integral part of the process that ensured that all details were clear through out the process. There were no change orders because of the completed design prior to production and our diligent and experience and skills. Additionally the accuracy of prefabrication and installation speed was a direct outcome of our teams preparation and execution.

What do you think you will gain from your participation in the project?

ITF: This project helped us to refine our skills and show our 100% mass timber product in public space.

What do you hope the greatest project outcome will be?

ITF: We like to inspire other communities to use our truly healthy and sustainable buildings that last for generations to come.

How will you continue to use the experience and learning’s from this project to further reduce GHG emissions in the built environment?

ITF: This project inspired us even more to research and develop better ways to reach new heights in GHG emission reduction.
