SSRIA has partnered with BUILDEX to give one of our members the opportunity to present during the BUILDEX Amplified Innovation Showcase. This feature session aligns directly with SSRIA’s objectives and values as it exists to highlight new technologies, materials and systems; break down barriers to adoption of new solutions; demystify technological advancements; and support the advancement of Western Canada’s building industry. Most importantly it gives innovators and solution makers a stage and a valuable opportunity to expand awareness about their products or technologies.
The BUILDEX Amplified Innovation Showcase will feature 5 companies that have low carbon building solutions that have been on the Canadian market for less than 1.5 years or that has been used in less than 10 Canadian projects. This is impactful for up and coming companies; being able to present at the Innovation Showcase is a highly sought-after opportunity (valued at $750). SSRIA has been learning about and working with Alberta building industry innovators and wants to ensure they are represented during this showcase so we secured one spot for a member company that meets the BUILDEX criteria. Six SSRIA members have indicated an interest in the opportunity and have been confirmed to meet the criteria. The companies who will be vying for the opportunity to present are:
BuildSense
Electronic Grid Systems
Growing Green Communities
ZS2 Technologies
Weatherskin
The selection will be made via random draw, but you can show your support for these companies and increase their chance of being selected by following SSRIA on LinkedIn and Twitter, and liking or commenting on the posts that profile your favorite company. Each like or comment on the SSRIA post that features your favorite company will count as an additional entry for them, which increases their chances of being selected for this opportunity. This event will run until August 12.
We will also virtually meet over coffee on August 12 at 9:00 AM to hear from each one of them and have an informal discussion about the opportunities and barriers that exist in the industry for innovative low carbon building solutions. For a little added excitement we will draw the winning company live during the event. You can register for that event here.
Growing Green Communities is looking to showcase their NexSys Wall Panel System at BUILDEX Amplified. The NexSys Wall Panel System is a low cost, fire resistant, thermally significant (R-30+) wall panel. It can reduce: time, schedule risk, waste, and improve overall production time for new commercial buildings while reducing greenhouse gases. All without costing more (in many cases, it would cost less).
BuildSense delivers the Continuous Audit product, which is a digital process for accurately and cost-effectively delivering a live data stream-based energy audit of buildings to pre-qualify buildings for energy efficiency retrofit investments.
Electronic Grid Systems has developed a modular and scalable power management platform for commercial facilities. The platform provides a variety of functions, including peak shaving, power factor control, EV charger management, and microgrid operation. eGrid’s solutions enable over 15% electricity bill reduction without having to install solar panels, and greater savings when solar and battery are installed.
ZS2 Technologies develops and manufactures advanced building technologies, including proprietary fire-rated, non-toxic, low-carbon cementitious building materials and prefabricated panels.
Weatherskin produces high performance low waste/low emissions coatings for residential, commercial and industrial construction markets. Their mission is to have zero or extremely low VOC’s, HAP’s, emissions, bi-products, and hazardous goods in their library of products. They produce waterborne polymer membranes, food grade concrete coatings, concrete auxiliary products, special purpose products, zero-biproduct disinfectant, and other sprayables such as marine grade epoxy, novalac and urethane.
